Knights of the Old Republic

Some of you may not know this classic game series. I would not be surprised but saddened as you have lost out on great experiences.  Bioware's Knights of the Old Republic's (KOTOR) first release was in 2003 and the second one in 2004. What made me, and other people, hold these games in high regards was definitely the story. Whilst you were forced into certain choices, most of what happened in the playthrough was your decision.  You wanted to be the (almost) comically evil person destroying everything he touches? No problem. You wanted to be ho holier than thou, (arguably) sci-fi universe's equivalent of a nun? You do you. All of that with sort of a turn based combat system with some DnDish (Dungeon and Dragons) dice element to decide all the calculations. But since we focus on the future, let's talk about KOTOR 3. We know that LucasArts in 2004 has made cuts to the budget, which also, unfortunately for many fans, included putting the KOTOR 3, which was in the design ph

The Elder Scrolls

The Elder scrolls games series is an undoubtedly legendary one. As a series role playing games (RPG) that has began all the way back in 1994, TES has always amazed the people with diversity of land, chracaters as well as with the depth of the stories and the size of it. The most well known example of this would be the most recent release by Bethesda Game Studios, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This giant of a game was released back in 2011.  Besides the things I have mentioned some of the other things most frequently brought up by Skyrim fans were: - Flexibility of the game (Both in terms of the gameplay itself as well as changing/adding elements of it, commonly referred to as "Modding) - Availability (Since 2011 it has been released on probably every single that could handle it technologically and physically) - Freedom of choice (You can do pretty much what you want, no "railroading") As this blog mostly focuses on technological progress, let's talk about the next gam

GTA 6

Grand theft Auto games series has been an evolutionary one. Upon most of its individual releases these games have surpassed standards of the time by a mile, relevant examples would include GTA 3, the first 3D GTA game which was released in 2001. But since this blog focuses on the future, let's talk about GTA 6. It's been almost 9 years since release of the GTA 5 and the rumours about the anticipated next entry have been steadily flowing in, even more so now since Rockstar recently confirmed they are indeed, working on GTA 6. What changes could we expect? The answer is that pretty much everything technologically is subject to change. Graphics, is an obvious one, and for an example of graphical changes I'd encourage you to look at Rockstar's most recent game built on the same game engine, Red Dead Redemption 2.  But since we talk about chanes we are likely to see in GTA 6 I'd like to bring up certain thoughts brought forward by certain industry "leakers". Introduction & Mount and Blade Games

Hello and welcome to the "Future of Gaming" blog!  As you can probably guess thanks to the rather obvious title, this blog's aim is to cover future of gaming, be it the general future releases and technological advanacements that may come with it.  As lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic gave a lot of us a lot of free time to do things that we enjoy or sought to experience, be it hiking, fishing, watching the TV or gaming.  I, as someone who has spent a lot of his free time on the computer, playing various games ever since early childhood have spent a lot more money on gaming accessories and as well as time on games themselves during the lockdown than I am willing to openly admit. Among the games that I have exposed myself (and my wallet) to when pretty much everything grinded to a standstill there have been marvels which I will discuss step by step in sizeable chunks. Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord - Whilst I can't deny launch itself left a lot to be wished for
